When it comes to leasing apartments, we’re always on the lookout for creative marketing ideas. Here’s a clever one I found on ParkonMorton.com. The banner below popped up over the website on my visit.

I’ve seen my fair share of pop up specials on apartment websites, but none have looked this well-designed. This pop up lets the visitor know that the property is sold out for the 2017/2018 school year. Then they ask you to sign up for the Fall 2018 wait list.
This is the first time I’ve seen a sold out banner on a student housing website and love what they’re doing here for a number of reasons:
- The banner is visually pleasing. Great contrast in color and it’s fun.
- The text is creative and calls out to you, “Hello Sunshine!”
- Creates desire by saying, “Sold Out.” People want what they can’t have.
- Has a clear call to action, “Sign up today for our Fall 2018 wait list.”
- Has the community logo on the banner, so you know it’s coming from the property.
- Asks for an email address and includes a phone number.
Now it’s your turn to think differently…
If you’re a property that is full or sold out, what are you doing to build your waiting list?
